Three steps from request to delivery. No payment is needed to request a quote.
DVA Funding Explained
General information to help you take the next step.
Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP)
DVA provides aids, equipment and modifications to eligible veterans through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP). The program is designed to help veterans stay independent and safe at home.
Under RAP:
- A GP or other appropriate health professional assesses your clinical need and prescribes a suitable item
- Items that can be provided are set out in DVA's RAP Schedule
- Some items need prior approval from DVA before they can be supplied
- Scheduled items are generally arranged by your health professional through DVA's contracted suppliers
- Items approved by DVA under RAP are provided at no cost to the veteran
Program rules are set by DVA and may change. Please check with DVA or your health professional for current details.
Who Is Eligible
To receive equipment through RAP you generally need an assessed clinical need and one of the following:
- A Veteran Gold Card
- A Veteran White Card, where the item relates to a condition accepted by DVA
DVA decides eligibility. We are not able to confirm whether you are entitled to an item or whether it will be funded.
How Tynor Australia Can Help
Where a product you need is not available through DVA's usual supply arrangements, your health professional can ask DVA to consider it. DVA will generally ask for clinical reasons and a supplier quote. We can assist with:
- Written quotes with full product details, pricing and GST where applicable
- Product information and sizing guidance for prescribers
- Supply and delivery once DVA approval or a purchase order has been confirmed in writing
- Itemised tax invoices issued in line with the approval
We can only process an order as DVA-funded where DVA has approved the supply. If you are unsure which pathway applies to you, contact us with your situation and we will point you in the right direction.
Health Professionals and Rehabilitation Providers
GPs, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation providers can request quotes on behalf of a DVA client.
- Quotes addressed to the prescriber or provider
- Product specifications on request
- Delivery direct to the client
Buying Privately
You do not need DVA funding or a referral to buy from us. All products are available to purchase directly through our website with delivery Australia-wide.
If you plan to ask DVA to cover the cost, please confirm with DVA before you purchase. We are not able to confirm whether a private purchase will be reimbursed.
Veterans with Other Funding
Some veterans also receive support through aged care programs or the NDIS. Which program funds an item depends on your circumstances, and DVA or your provider can advise.
See our Support at Home and aged care, NDIS and funding options pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about ordering with DVA funding.
Can you supply to DVA clients?
Yes, where DVA has approved the supply. Supply is subject to DVA eligibility, assessment and prescription by an appropriate health professional, and approval under the relevant DVA program.
Who decides if my item is funded?
DVA. Entitlement and approval are determined by DVA, not by Tynor Australia. Your GP or treating health professional can advise what you may be entitled to.
Do I need a prescription?
For DVA-funded equipment, yes. A GP or other appropriate health professional needs to assess your clinical need and prescribe the item. You can attach a prescription or therapist's report to the order form.
Can my occupational therapist or physiotherapist request the quote?
Yes. Health professionals and rehabilitation providers can complete the order form on your behalf and have the quote sent to them directly.
Will there be a cost to me?
Items approved by DVA under the Rehabilitation Appliances Program are provided at no cost to the veteran. If you buy privately, you pay for the item yourself. Please check with DVA before purchasing if you intend to seek reimbursement.
Which card do I need?
RAP is generally available to Veteran Gold Card holders, and to Veteran White Card holders where the item relates to an accepted condition. DVA can confirm what your card covers.
Can I buy without DVA funding?
Yes. Anyone can order directly through our website without a referral, with delivery Australia-wide.
How long does a quote take?
You can download a quotation straight away after completing the order form, and our team confirms it within 1–2 business days.
