Ash Brace (Spinal Hyperextension Brace) is designed to immobilize the vertebral column and maintain it in a neutral or slightly hyperextension position. It provides stabilization of the spine and encourages cervical and lumbar lordosis thus relieving pressure on the anterior parts of the vertebral bodies. They are designed to act on a three-point pressure principle by exerting pressure against the sternum and pubis on the ventral and the lumbar region on the dorsal.

Construction
- Made out of aerodynamically shaped, telescoping, aluminum "O" section and malleable horizontal main body to form a crossbar. The knob and screw mechanism allows two-way size adjustments of the brace on the vertical side and bending of the malleable horizontal main body on the horizontal side.
- Anatomically contoured pubic and the sternal pads covered with ethafoam relieve pressure and ensure secure and comfortable fitting of the brace.
- A heavy-duty strap attached to the two lateral sides of the brace with a broad rigid back pad help in the three-point force application involving the lumbar vertebra on one side and sternal and symphysis pubis on the other side.
- Swivel sternal pad conforms to the chest and eliminates pressure on the chest.
