The Tynor Adjustable R.O.M Knee Brace is a hinged knee brace designed to assist controlled rehabilitation of the knee joint by regulating the range of flexion and extension through a precise steel pin mechanism. Bilateral polycentric gear-type aluminium hinges allow staged adjustments from full immobilisation through to a defined range of motion — supporting progressive rehabilitation while designed to help maintain joint stability throughout. The two-piece wrap-around design with perforated neoprene and a patellar opening is designed for comfortable extended wear and suitable for both left and right knees. Supplied by Australian Healthcare Supplies, a registered NDIS provider based in Perth, Western Australia.

The Tynor Adjustable R.O.M Knee Brace may assist in managing and supporting recovery associated with the following conditions and procedures:

  • Post-operative rehabilitation following knee ligament repair or reconstruction (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL)
  • Post-operative rehabilitation following meniscal surgery or knee arthroplasty
  • Knee ligament sprains and instability requiring controlled motion support
  • Fractures around the knee joint requiring staged mobilisation
  • Patella dislocation or subluxation — staged return to movement
  • Knee joint immobilisation where full restriction is clinically indicated
  • Controlled mobilisation during structured physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes
  • General knee support where adjustable range of motion control is required

Use under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional. If your physiotherapist, GP, or orthopaedic surgeon has recommended a range of motion knee brace, confirm product code D 58 with your clinician. NDIS participants should contact us to confirm funding eligibility.

  1. Set the desired range of motion on both hinges using the steel pin mechanism before applying the brace — ensure both sides are set to the same angles.
  2. Position the brace on the knee ensuring both hinges align with the centre axis of the knee joint — the hinge centre should coincide with the natural pivot point of the knee.
  3. Wrap the upper and lower sections around the thigh and calf, passing the straps through the buckle slots on each hinge.
  4. Fasten the hook-and-loop straps firmly — the brace should feel secure without causing numbness or restricting circulation.
  5. Check that knee flexion and extension are moving within the set range — adjust the pin settings if required, as directed by your clinician.
  6. Adjust the range of motion incrementally over time only as directed by your physiotherapist or treating clinician.

  • Ensure both hinges are upright as per the arrow mark and that bending is in line with natural knee bending before each use
  • Ensure the centre of each hinge aligns with the axis of the knee joint — incorrect alignment may reduce the support provided and cause discomfort
  • Do not adjust the range of motion settings without clinical guidance — staged progression must be directed by your physiotherapist or surgeon
  • Discontinue use immediately and seek medical advice if you experience numbness, swelling, increased pain, skin irritation, or worsening symptoms
  • Consult your doctor before concurrent use with any other medical device or knee support

What is a ROM knee brace used for?
A range of motion (ROM) knee brace is designed to assist controlled rehabilitation by allowing the clinician to set the precise angle of flexion and extension the knee is permitted to move through. This allows staged rehabilitation — starting with limited movement and progressively increasing the range as recovery allows — while designed to help maintain joint stability throughout.

What is the difference between the D58 and the D10/D48 ROM Knee Brace?
The D58 uses a steel pin mechanism with bilateral polycentric gear-type aluminium hinges and a two-piece wrap-around design with perforated neoprene. The D10 and D48 use a dial-type adjustment mechanism. The D58 is the current adjustable ROM model in the Tynor Care range. Confirm the recommended product code with your clinician before ordering.

Can it be used on both left and right knees?
Yes — the Tynor D58 is designed as a universal brace suitable for both the left and right knee. Ensure the hinge centres align correctly with the knee axis on whichever leg it is applied to.
