• Decide whether to use sand or water, then fill to the load advised by your clinician — up to 12 kg using sand, or up to 9 litres using water.
• Read the level against the correct side of the printed scale: the sand scale (Kgs) is on the left and the water scale (Lts) is on the right.
• Close the filling port securely before use.
• Attach the weight bag to the traction cord running over the pulley bracket.
• Use only as part of a complete Tynor traction kit, under the strict guidance of a qualified doctor or physiotherapist.
• Empty and store the bag when not in use.

Either can be used. Sand allows the full 12 kg load, while water is more convenient to fill and empty at home.
