Product Description

The Tynor Wrist Splint with Thumb (E-44) is a long, rigid wrist-and-thumb splint that firmly immobilises and supports the wrist and thumb while leaving the fingers free to move. Removable, anatomically shaped double aluminium splints can be customised (shaped) to set the degree of wrist and thumb support, and an extended thumb cradle protects and positions the thumb. A lace-pull design with Velcro fasteners and a reverse-buckle mechanism gives an intimate, customised compression and controlled tightening. Its ambidextrous design fits both the left and right hand, and the long, PU-lined, cushioned construction supports the forearm while abutting the palmar crease for free finger movement. Available in sizes S, M, L and XL.

  • Rigid splint — Removable, anatomically shaped double aluminium splints firmly immobilise and support the wrist and thumb.
  • Fits both left and right hand — A single ambidextrous design fits either hand.
  • Lace-pull mechanism — A lace design with reverse-buckle Velcro fasteners gives an intimate, customised compression and controlled tightening.
  • Extended thumb cradle — Protects and positions the thumb for comfortable, supportive immobilisation.
  • Long length — Extended forearm coverage for added support; abuts the palmar crease for free finger movement.
  • Lightweight & cushioned — A three-layered fabric with an open-celled foam core and PU-lined finish for comfortable, durable wear.

The Tynor Wrist Splint with Thumb is designed to help immobilise and support the wrist and thumb in a functional position, under the direction of a qualified healthcare professional. May assist in managing discomfort associated with the following conditions:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist support)

ⓘ Important: The aluminium splints are shaped to set the wrist and thumb position and degree of support. Fitting and shaping should be carried out under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.

Use under the strict guidance of a qualified healthcare professional. An orthopaedic stockinette can be worn underneath for added comfort.

The relief Oh.! The relief!

My doctor diagnosed my wrist and thumb pain as de Quervain’s tendonosis All I knew was that it hurt very badly whenever I tried to turn a tap or a doorknob Or any number of other mundane household tasks. He told me to put a wrist splint on it. But could not inform where I might find a suitable one. I searched the pharmacies around where I live to no avail. Then I made my own from a steel ruler, some padding and a bandage. That effectively immobilised the wrist and thumb, but it was uncomfortable and unsightly. Then I found Tynor, and the wrist splint with thumb spica. It seemed precisely what I needed. I ordered one. It arrived very quickly. And it was perfect. I ordered another so I’d have an alternate when one was being washed.

After using it for a week or so, I adjusted the aluminium inserts to a better fit to my wrist and thumb and sewed them into their pouches. This cured the one small niggle I had with the splint: the inserts move out gradually and cause awkward moments.

If I ever need to use a splint on the other wrist, I’d buy more. But it would be easy to unpick the stitches.

This kroduct is awesome. Cleverly designed, comfortable to wear once you stabilise the inserts, and easy to wash and dry. Top marks.

Dear Alan,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review!
Glad to hear you are happy with the service and delivery. All the best and we look forward to speaking to you soon!

Wrist sizing

Good product, does what it is designed to do. The only issue I have is, it fits around wrist and thumb perfectly, but when it gets above the wrist it is too tight. I think a larger size is the way to go if you have larger area above wrist.
